ABOUT
The print version of Under the Volcano, a music fanzine, has been published bi-monthly since 1991, some of which are sold nationally and some which are free on beauooooooooooootiful Long Island. Under the Volcano erupts with music not yet ready for the mainstream, from punk to hardcore to garage and more. Each issue features tons of audio reviews, columns, and the best interviews you’ll read with your favorite bands n’ personalities, from the gritty hardcore of stalwarts Most Precious Blood to up n’ comers like Dearly Departed.
This site is meant to complement the print version of UTV while adding some elements that are difficult to translate in print format. Yes, there will be some features and reviews found in Under the Volcano's print version, but not everything found in the magazine will be found here (and vice versa).
Of course you'll find advertising rates and deadlines here, but the Frequently Asked Questions and detailed Distribution pages should also be helpful. There are links to the best independent record labels in the world and Long Island bands. You can also come here to get 1" pins made or help getting your own zine printed.
In the future, you'll be able to buy CDs immediately after reading a review by clicking on a button, and other cool stuff!
